A Kiss for the Petals/Sono Hanabira ni Kichizuke o

IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of the localization of A Kiss For The Petals games, the English patches have been removed in hopes that the other games will slowly but surely get localized.

(Intro mostly taken from Listless Ink)

Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo (その花びらにくちづけを) began as a simple yuri visual novel that features a really light yuri story. It emphasized the soft romance between two girls and quickly became one of a kind in a world dominated by fetishist and heavy materials. It was also one of the first ecchi visual novel that features purely yuri relationships. Because of its uniqueness, it soon gained widespread popularity not only within the niche, but among many anime fans.

Following the success of the first game, Sono Hanabira quickly expanded into a series of games that all cater to the sweet fluffy side in us. Since its humble beginning, the visual novel series has also prompted several associated artworks, light novels, drama CDs, an artbook, and even an anime adaptation.

Here are some plugs for two colleagues who have done much more to share the greatness of Sono Hanabira with the entire world than I ever could.

Yi-san The woman who introduced me, and many others, to the majesty that is SH. Besides her impeccable SH page, she’s the yuri nation’s fashion guru. She has some neat editorials, anime and manga reviews.

AXYPB: The mysterious creator of the Sono Hanabira international introduction/distribution website, Petals’ Garden. He could bean android or the second coming of Sir Grodus for all I know but what matters is he truly wants to push SH’s awesomeness to the West and beyond Asian borders for all nation members to experience. For all Hanabira intel and updates, give him a buzz.

Could you tell me how to install the English patch for sono hanabira: a kiss for the petals? I have the game, but I can’t seem to get the patch to work…..

    • Overlord-G says:

Download all the files and move all the files you extracted to the Sono Hanabira Folder, replacing any files when asked to copy over them. Once finished, click on Hanabira-EN to play the game.

  2. AllyCat says:

Thanks, how about My Dear Prince?

Sorry to be such a bother, this is all new to me 🙂

    • Overlord-G says:

After downloading the installer for Hanabira 2 and you get to the part where you see
“Browse”, search for where you extracted My Dear Prince and click OK. Then proceed with installation.

  3. Elizabeth says:

Sorry to be bothersome, but do you know which is the latest game that has an English patch?

  4. AllyCat says:

Did the english patch for sono hanabira 9-10-and 11 come out yet?
If so, where can I find it?

  5. AllyCat says:

Has there been any update about the english patches for 9-10… ?

  6. emachel says:

Any ideas about new translations? I’ve finished the 8 first games like years ago and I’d like to at least know if someone is working on translating the next ones… This is by far the best series of visual novels I’ve played, I really hope I would be able to enjoy more of it.

  7. Autumn says:

I heard an all star games is being released, and I’m still waiting for the 9th patch ( ;___; )
That’s it! I am learning Japanese TODAY!

  8. MisterMasada says:

OG-Sama, are there any rules regarding the posting of youtube links in comments? I found something quite nice, made from the OVA.

  9. Kaiki says:

I just came to say that as of yesterday SH9 is fully translated and patched. So everybody can look forward to SH10 coming soon now.

    • Overlord-G says:

I was waiting for the official announcement but I guess it happened while I was away. Will post it when I can.

      • Kaiki says:

I had kind of a hard time playing through it. Playing it right after SH8 might not help but I think it’s the weakest entry yet. Runa is unbearable, even worse than in their first game. Looking forward to your review.

  10. Don’t know where to put it, but here may be something worth reporting:

It’s about a YuriVN by Razz, now in the works for 2 years. There’s a playable demo now and she is asking for feedback. Finished game is gonna cost 10$ and is going to have 2 routes with 6 endings.

    Story goes like this:
You play as Aria, a girl who moves into her grandfather’s old house. While exploring the upstairs study one night, she and her friend Melody accidentally unleash a flirtatious demon named Lyria, who spent the past 50 years in a stone.

After freeing her from her prison, the two become attached by a ‘Lifelink Stone’, which means Lyria can’t go far from Aria without feeling repercussions, and vice versa. This gets quite awkward when Aria tries to go about (what’s left of) her normal life.

Any updates on the st Michaels games being English patched?? Also lily platinum seems to be stuck on 94 percent progress for some time… wondered what the time scale of it being completed? I have asked directly to the apyxb website but was shot down wondered if there is any information on my request?
Sorry for asking and being a pain any news would or updates would be appreciated

    • Overlord-G says:

Oh I’m still waiting myself for more patches after Hanahira! but I’m guessing the copyright stuff caught up with the translators and now they can’t continue anymore. Who knows? For now all we can do is wonder if they’ll get localized or some unknown heroes finish translating the games.

      • jazz says:

Ah what the copyrights? But they aren’t even english translated or licenced by english publishers. 😦 I guess i will have to attempt to play the st michaels game in Kanji. And attempt is a major overstatement

    • Overlord-G says:

Best of luck to ya dood.

      • jazz says:

Thanks i really got hooked into them this year. I just find it so pure considering the anime i watch is twisted now i’ve grinded to a halt as i have completed alll of them but now the struggle is real :\

Are you going to put the information for the other visual novels up there? and do you know when they are going to release another english patch like for the next one? I got Remembering How We Met on steam but i dont want to play it yet because i havent been able to play the first one with Risa And Miya meeting for the first time it just would not be the same if i started this one then if and when the english patch came out for the next one i would have already skipped ahead. lol I have played all of the ones with english patches before so ive just been waiting… for a while for the next one to come out. I know you probably will but keep updating this page so i can maybe play another new A Kiss For The Petals visual novel. Thank you for listening to all i have to say here.

    • OG-Man says:

As far as the patches go they are cancelled until further notice in hopes that the other games will eventually get localized as well. Also Remembering When We Met takes place before Maidens of Michael so you won’t be missing anything crucial playing it before the other games featuring Risa and Miya.

      • Sign123 says:

Oh i should have done more research then my bad. Well that makes me happy now i can play it with out feeling like im missing out on anything. Is there a good chance that the rest of the games will be localized?

      • OG-Man says:

We’ll have to wait and see how this one does in sales.

  13. DragonRider360 says:

Is there a translation for sono hanabira michael otome no tachi?
Or are there anyone translating it?

  14. Sign123 says:

I have been meaning to ask anyone and pretty much anyone that has played the Sono Hanabira visual novels but how does everyone feel about the new models for most of the girls in sono hanabira michael otome no tachi?

  15. random8822 says:

Hey, am i allowed to post games 10-17 (untranslated) on here? If i can then someone can translate them if they want, let me know.

  16. Elull says:

So, besides the first eight and ”How we first met” Is there no other English translated Patch? I’ve been searching for it on the internet like crazy but I haven’t cross passed any of them.

  17. Sign123 says:

So do you know if all of the VN’s are going to be localized? If so do you know when they plan on doing it? Do you know of a way for me to be able to read them? Like a program or something? I’m either gonna have to wait a while for them to be localized or well the harder option which is learn Japanese. ha

So is there any news regarding this localisation? Honestly I just wish to play the games without having to open both the original Jap version and the translation (super grateful to Yuri Project for that)…

  20. B3UT1 says:

Does anyone have the eng pach of A Kiss for the Petals – Maidens of Michael ?

  21. Zackery Danh says:

Ah, you haven’t played the joy of loving you? That’s sad, it’s my personal favorite of all the games.
