Anima Yell! Episode 5: Kotetsu’s Training and Home Ec

It’s time to welcome the newest member of the Cheer Association. Kotetsu!

Kotetsu blown away.jpg

She’s definitely the “Cute One”.

We began the episode with our lovely trio throwing a welcoming party for Kotetsu, leading to Kohane insisting on calling her “Kotecchan”. As we found out last time Kotetsu didn’t like her first name. To melt the ice Kohane had everyone address each other by first name. Even Arima, whose first name was Hizume. I’ll stick with Arima but others a free to call her Hizume if they want.

Call me Kohane-chan.

Jealous Uki.jpg

Poor Uki better confess soon or else she could lose her precious genki.

Welcome Kotetsu cheer.jpg

Welcome Kotetsu cheer!

The gang treated her to a wonderful welcoming cheer but when Kohane had trouble spelling “Kotecchan” in English she was like “Fine. Kotetsu it is”. To repay the girls for their welcome Kotetsu had a surprise of her own, which was also nice. Poor dear needed to build up her stamina though, just like Kohane when she first started.

Kohane brought up the famous “Pom pom training”.

Pumped Arima.jpg

Like I said. I love Arima’s actions and reactions. Also her default droopy expression.

Difference in physical capabilities.jpg

Stretching exercise.

We got an exercise segment showing our heroines’ current physical capabilities. Two of the four were athletes.

Kotetsu trying to keep up.jpg

Do keep in mind the exercising has meaning.

Besides physical capabilities it’s like we were watching Kotetsu, the beginner, learning the basics of cheering for the first time so it’s nice seeing her slowly adapt along with watching fellow newbie Kohane keep up in her own way.

Kotetsu feeling sore.jpg

Yaaay! It’s the girl who made this show relevant to the mainstream for one episode.

Like everyone who wasn’t used to exercising weekly Kotetsu felt sore the next day but the basic cheer moves were ingrained in her body and mind so it didn’t really affect her.

D’Awwww.

Home Ec President.jpg

Home Ec President. An interesting lass.

Our heroines got another request but it wasn’t cheerleader themed. We were quickly reminded that this was the “Girl of the Hour”s club and she bragged about the Association’s magic. Thus the prez asked our heroines to taste test their dishes to help set their menu for a contest.

More Uki jokes.jpg

Like I said. An interesting lass.

Arima's trauma returns.jpg

Only Japan. Only Japan.

Awesome Kohane.jpg

Oh my poor gut.

Kohane wants to thank Basketball-senpai.jpg

Tsundere Basketball-senpai.

Another good episode. We got to learn about the basic cheer steps and even some valuable stretching exercises. Whether any of us will follow is up to the individual. Still hoping we’ll be introduced to the”Girl of the Hour”s girlfriend before the season finale.

I don’t know what it is about Kotetsu, but she might be the sexiest girl this season for me (I have unusual preferences, I know…) ^^

She looks absolutely gorgeous in the yellow school uniform.

Hizume’s poker face is legendary. Some of the things she says, I’m sure she can’t wait to go around the corner afterwards to burst out laughing. You just can’t fake that ultra-serious tone of voice unless you’re a natural comedian ^^

And Hizume’s brother is the coolest unseen brother ever.

An interesting teasing, flirting side of Kohane came out this episode when she was messing first with Uki and then Basket-sempai. You little seducer you. And Kotetsu is sweet when she speaks without thinking.

Kotetsu is pretty cute, but I’m a sucker for blue ponytails.

She’s totes adorbs. Sexy? We’ll need a swimsuit episode to find out for sure.

The joke is she does take most things seriously. Why else do you think we have the trauma gag? Kinda reminds me of myself since I can’t take a joke either.

      He does give sage advice.

Kohane has yuri harem powers after all.

The size of the chair association grows! One more and they can become the chair club!

I was worried the ghost of the music room might get lonely, but it looks like Kotestu will still be keeping her company.

Kohane needs to invent the Daggers V. It could be a Half T with your arms angled.

Of course Kotestu’s friend had high praises for the chair association. I noticed she was not shown when Kohane asked if the home ec club had someone they wanted to marry. 🙂 I’d really like to see her girlfriend at some point.

Hizume’s brother gave a very helpful reminder this episode. Those new uniforms are pretty cute. I’ll probably end up pretending Hizume has a sister though, for some pervy girl representation.

Basketball-senpai can’t resist the charms of Kohane. I suspect she’ll ask the chair association to do some more chairleading in the future.

I can’t relate to Uki’s desire to chair right after eating. Doing that would give me a stomach cramp.

  4. Kotetsu is a cutie; she has the 2nd best smile next to Kohane imo. Also I bet girl of the hour and her gf will show up to see Kotetsu cheer sometime, how cute would that be? >_<

Poor Uki, no one can resist Kohane’s charm. I’m beginning to think she does that on purpose to make Uki jealous. She’s Kasumi 2.0. Glad we get to see Akitsune again and yes we all want her girlfriend to show up.

    This episode made me hungry…

I think Uki’s jealousy this time wasn’t as intense as the time she found out Kohane’s wearing Arima’s clothes. I wonder if Kohane will ever know about Uki’s feelings 😀 Anyway I can’t wait to see the 5th member already 😀

I like basketball-senpai, she a quiet type of tsundere that do tsundere stuff behind the scenes 🙂

A fun episode, but probably the most subdued yet. Am hoping we can meet the fifth member more properly soon!!

    Kohane is ❤

I enjoy watching all the girls’ expression, I feel that they are really well done. Kotetsu’s expressions were especially cute this episode. Might be my second favorite character after Arima. Feels like Kohane is building up a harem in the cheer association. I can’t wait for the last member to join, she seems interesting enough, with her somewhat competitive nature with Arima!

Nice to see Kotetsu finally joining the group, she’s cute.

Nice to see Kotetsu’s friend again. I still want to know how she’s doing with her relationship. Honestly I’m actually really curious about that and want some kinda update or something. That was such a great, and surprising, scene a few eps ago so some follow up at some point would be much appreciated.

The whole taste testing scene was good. More cuties introduced in that scene. Wonder if we’ll see the Home-Ec president again, she was interesting indeed.

Now we’re just waiting for the redhead to make her official appearance.

      Adorable.

We’re all hoping she introduces her girlfriend before the season finale.

Hopefully, like Basketball-senpai this won’t be the last we see of Home-Ec Prez.

      Looking forward to it.
