It’s time to welcome the newest member of the Cheer Association. Kotetsu!
We began the episode with our lovely trio throwing a welcoming party for Kotetsu, leading to Kohane insisting on calling her “Kotecchan”. As we found out last time Kotetsu didn’t like her first name. To melt the ice Kohane had everyone address each other by first name. Even Arima, whose first name was Hizume. I’ll stick with Arima but others a free to call her Hizume if they want.
The gang treated her to a wonderful welcoming cheer but when Kohane had trouble spelling “Kotecchan” in English she was like “Fine. Kotetsu it is”. To repay the girls for their welcome Kotetsu had a surprise of her own, which was also nice. Poor dear needed to build up her stamina though, just like Kohane when she first started.
Kohane brought up the famous “Pom pom training”.
We got an exercise segment showing our heroines’ current physical capabilities. Two of the four were athletes.
Besides physical capabilities it’s like we were watching Kotetsu, the beginner, learning the basics of cheering for the first time so it’s nice seeing her slowly adapt along with watching fellow newbie Kohane keep up in her own way.
Like everyone who wasn’t used to exercising weekly Kotetsu felt sore the next day but the basic cheer moves were ingrained in her body and mind so it didn’t really affect her.
Our heroines got another request but it wasn’t cheerleader themed. We were quickly reminded that this was the “Girl of the Hour”s club and she bragged about the Association’s magic. Thus the prez asked our heroines to taste test their dishes to help set their menu for a contest.
Another good episode. We got to learn about the basic cheer steps and even some valuable stretching exercises. Whether any of us will follow is up to the individual. Still hoping we’ll be introduced to the”Girl of the Hour”s girlfriend before the season finale.
