Ladies and Gentlemen. On the day this episodic was written, was the day WWE Money in the Bank 2018 would air. Your supreme leader postponed the Uma Musume G-View for that reason.
There is one thing I could not, under any circumstances, postpone. Not this. I had waited all week for this day. As soon as Toei did their usual “Hey guys! We’re going to spoil something huge for ratings!” method of promotion they do all the time with Pretty Cure and when Dragonball Super was on the air and something huge was hinted that could not be escaped on Twitter, it was something I had to talk about as soon as it got subbed. That time is now. Let us begin.
When we last saw our lovebirds EmiRuru (aka 2GB, 2 Girl Band) they announced their desire to become Power Rangers together. Unfortunately Harry and Hugtan only had one morpher left. Our main trio, especially Hana were devastated by this. She even tried breaking the morpher in half. This dilemma affected the Rangers’ concentration quite a bit as Saaya and Homare had important tryouts they were training for.
It’s weird I’m bringing these two up right now but I felt like doing so. So the mystery man in the first pic has shows up every now and then. I have a theory that he may not only be a heel but THE HEEL in disguise. Honestly I would be shocked if he turned out to be a Babyface this whole time watching the Rangers from a distance. The second villain I predict to be the “Starscream” of the Dark Corporation, meaning a shady member who is secretly working against the big bad to take his spot as the new leader. That or as someone in the comments section mentioned he could secretly be the puppet master. We’ll find out eventually. With that out of the way let’s get back to what really matters.
The next day Ruru overheard Hana’s family bring up miracles during breakfast. Remember this. When Hana woke up she didn’t look so good. She caught a fever. How it happened was so Hana. Like I said she was the one who wanted EmiRuru to become Power Rangers most of all.
Emiru and Ruru got advice from Homare and Saaya respectively, both wanting ever so deeply for the one they love to become a Power Ranger…and also saying how much they love each other. The veteran Rangers told them to never give up or stop believing cause you never know. Ruru and Emiru envisioned their senpai as angels. Pretty cool.
The first miracle came when Jerk Bro once again came to Emiru’s room. Emiru was prepared to stand her ground and fight for her dreams thanks to Homare’s advice but to her surprise Jerk Bro came to give concert tickets for Ruru and her. Yup. That beat down from the last episode helped him change his outdated ways. He even made up with Henri…which could possibly lead to something more. We shall see.
Obviously the first person Emiru wanted to tell the great news to was her beloved. Not only did her (no longer) Jerk Bro give them rock concert tickets but he FINALLY gave her his support to follow her dream of becoming a rock star. Both ladies were filled with unbridled love and joy. Emiru then swore to protect Ruru’s smile. She also wanted to compose a song together but this time Ruru would be writing the lyrics.
EmiRuru were ready to rock hard at the concert. Unfortunately it was that time of the episode.
Ruru leapt to protect Emiru but she too was determined to keep her promise to protect Ruru.
Seeing the MotW attack on TV Hana was like “Screw this fever. I’m gonna kick monster ass myself for I am the Gay Cupid! Not only EmiRuru but HomaSaya may also become a couple so I’m here to make sure their dreams come true!”. Actually Homare and Saaya were at their respective auditions but the point of Cure Yell being a gay cupid stands. EmiRuru cheered Cure Yell on
It’s almost time folks. Their love and courage awakened their inner Mirai Crystals. The last morpher appeared before them. The two briefly debated on which one should become a Power Ranger until Ruru was like “I want us to become Rangers together. I don’t know if that’s possible but DAMN IT ALL I WANT TO BE WITH YOU FOREVAH!”
Suddenly another miracle happened and the “Cure Goddess” or whatever kind of deity she was appeared and was like “You two have proven your supreme gayness for each other. Here’s an extra morpher. Go crazy with the power love BABEH!”
And then…it happened.
The PreCure of Love wowed the world paying homage to Symphogear and yet again to the OG Cures of “Futari wa PreCure”. WATCH IT!
And that brings the Ruru, or rather EmiRuru arc to a close and MAN OH MAN WHAT AN ARC IT WAS! I haven’t seen every installment of Pretty Cure to date but I’ve seen several and I can honestly this is one of the best “Bonus Ranger” arcs in the franchise. Top two for sure. So far EmiRuru have the potential of toppling my #1 PreCure couple in the franchise. That being Mirai X Liko. It’s going to be tough but if their relationship continues being as incredible as it was in this arc then it can be done. If not then they certainly have the #2 spot, formerly held by Hibiki X Kanade. Love X Setstuna are at #3. Akira X Yukari used to be my #4 but EmiRuru already took that spot…easily. What about Mana’s harem you may ask? Mana’s the Yuri Queen of all PreCure. There you go.
Join us next time as we join Emiru/Cure Ma Cherie trying to figure out what kind of Power Ranger she wants to become.
Alright Rory. Time to drop in and share your EmiRuru love with everyone!
