The Sunshine Blog Award

Round three of the “Catching up with nominations” spree is up next with a nomination from good old Macho Chikorita (Chikorita157). Dunno if there are any rules. My best guess is it’s the same as the Real Neat Blog Award. So then, here we go again!

Have you experienced some type of writer’s block during your Anime blogging career?

Several times. There have been some Yuri Talk and Life Lessons topics I wanted to discuss, such as a “more in-depth exploration on shipping” and discussing how to interact with fans and maintaining a stable relationship” but I cannot find the right words to bring up such topics. There really is no secret to how I overcome writer’s block. I simply put topics I want to bring up but can’t in the back and forget about them in time. Maybe they somehow pop back later on and THEN I know exactly what to write about them.

Who are your favorite Japanese voice actors/actresses?

  • Aoi Yuuki
  • Satomi Arai
  • Mamiko Noto
  • Joji Nakata
  • Hiroshi Kamiya

Have you ever gone to an Anime convention before? If so, what conventions did you went to?

Not yet.

If you can make a live action production, which Anime/Light Novel/Manga would you choose as the source material?

Based on your knowledge on how Anime production works, what is your opinion on how animators are being treated in Japan? What would you do to improve their situation?

Based on what I have to go on from shows like SHIROBAKO, Bakuman and Sore ga Seiyuu I can only think of the following:

-Improved working environments

-Better morale/motivation.

-Higher wages.

-Less strict schedule/deadlines.

-More capable female directors.

I can mention improvements but what it would take to implement them in Japan is most likely a long, painful process. I do not even know if the Japanese culture would approve these minor suggestions.

Do you watch or experience any other forms of media besides Anime?

Pro wrestling, The Soup, talk shows, Western cartoons, the local news, non-JP movies, local comedy shows, radio talk shows featuring senior citizens complaining about Aruban politics and of course video games. So yes I do experience other forms of media.

What do you prefer, official subs (e.g. legal streams or home releases) or fan subs?

Whichever one is accessible and not blocked due to region lock.

I honestly can’t add other questions because these are all pretty good so to the following nominees the same questions apply:

  1. Have you experience some type of writer’s block during your Anime blogging career?
  2. What is your favorite Japanese voice actors/actresses?
  3. Have you ever gone to an Anime convention before? If so, what conventions did you went to?
  4. If you can make a live action production, which Anime/Light Novel/Manga would you choose as the source material?
  5. Based on your knowledge on how Anime production works, what is your opinion on how animators are being treated in Japan? What would you do to improve their situation?
  6. Do you watch or experience any other forms of media besides Anime?
  7. What do you prefer, official subs (e.g. legal streams or home releases) or fan subs?

Interesting answers. For me, I don’t have specific voice actors I like since I focus mostly on the singing aspect. Some of my favorites are Mizuki Nana, Imai Asami, Uesaka Sumire, Uchida Mayya and perhaps Ayane Sakura.

I will get to the Real Neet Blog thingy next week. Busy with moving and getting ready for work, so it will take awhile.
